Article Processing Charges (APC) Guide

Applicable for all submissions made on or after 1 December 2025

1. Introduction

The Textile Journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to manuscripts submitted on or after 1 December 2025. These charges support peer review, production, publication, and long-term archiving of all articles.

2. APC Amount

Standard APC: 600 EURO
This APC applies to all kinds of articles.

3. What the APC Covers

The APC supports the following services:

  • Editorial review and manuscript management
  • Plagiarism/similarity checking
  • Peer-review coordination
  • Copyediting and language improvements
  • Typesetting and article formatting
  • DOI registration
  • Online hosting and long-term archiving

No additional fees are charged for colour figures or supplementary materials.

4. APC Payment Process

Upon acceptance, authors will receive an invoice with payment instructions. Payment options include:

  • Bank transfer (15 USD fixed charges)
  • Wise (recommended for international payments)
  • PayPal (6% Charges)
  • Credit/Debit card (if available)

Payment must be completed within 10 days of receiving the invoice. The article will enter production only after payment confirmation.

Important Instructions:

  • Please include your Manuscript ID or Invoice Number in the payment reference.
  • EUR payments within SEPA typically arrive within 1–2 working days.
  • International SWIFT payments may take 4–5 working days.

After completing the payment, authors are requested to email the payment confirmation or receipt to the journal office.

6. Waivers & Discounts

Full or partial APC waivers may be considered for:

  • Authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries
  • Unfunded research or financial hardship
  • Student-led research
  • Editorial team members, who are eligible for a 50% APC waiver

Waiver requests must be made at the time of submission.

7. Refund Policy

APCs are non-refundable once the article has entered production. Refunds may only be issued if the journal withdraws the article for internal reasons.
